SEOUL, South Korea (AP) A die-hard, long-time Kansas City Royals fan from Seoul who became an international celebrity after he was superstitiously credited with sparking the team's playoff run left Tuesday for Missouri to watch the Royals appear in their first World Series since 1985.
San Francisco has grown accustomed to success across sports, while Kansas City has been pretty starved in that regard. So in a civic sense, the 2014 World Series is bigger than simply Giants vs. Royals. Bottom line: Kansas City, as a burg, is due.
