North Carolina’s Roy Williams retiring after 33 seasons as head coach

North Carolina announced Thursday that Hall of Fame basketball coach Roy Williams is retiring after 33 years. 

The 70-year-old Williams closed his 18th season with the team after a highly successful run at Kansas. Over the course of his career, Williams won 903 games including three national championships in 2005, 2009 and 2017.
