The New York Jets are trading quarterback Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft, as well as second- and fourth-round picks in 2022.

The 23-year-old Darnold was the third overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. In his three NFL seasons, Darnold has thrown 45 touchdowns and 39 interceptions, compiling a 13-25 record in his 38 starts.

The Panthers will still pick eighth overall and have a chance to grab talent like OT Penei Sewell or TE Kyle Pitts if available.
